About me

I'm Karlis Kadakovskis, an engineer building reliable AI systems for real-world environments.

Who I am

I’m an engineer focused on building practical AI systems that operate reliably in real environments.

My work sits at the intersection of software, machine learning, hardware, and automation. I enjoy solving problems where constraints are real — limited compute, imperfect data, unstable conditions — and systems need to work consistently, not just once.

How I approach problems

I approach projects as systems, not isolated components.

That means considering data, hardware, software, automation, and long-term operation as one connected whole. Decisions are made based on real constraints rather than ideal assumptions, with a strong focus on reliability, observability, and maintainability.

Background

My background is non-traditional.

I developed my skills through hands-on work, self-directed learning, and building real systems from scratch — often across software, machine learning, electronics, and embedded platforms.

This path shaped how I work: practical, resourceful, and focused on results rather than credentials.

What matters to me

  • Systems that work outside ideal conditions

  • Clear communication between humans and machines

  • Automation that supports people, not replaces judgment

  • Long-term reliability over short-term demos

Who I Work With

I Work Best With

I work best with teams and individuals who value clarity, realism, and long-term thinking.

Projects are most successful when there is a clear problem to solve, access to real data or hardware, and a shared understanding that reliable systems take thoughtful design.

Personal Note

I enjoy working independently, going deep into complex problems, and turning abstract ideas into systems that actually operate in the real world.

When I’m not working, I’m usually experimenting, learning, or refining existing systems.

If you’re looking for someone who approaches AI as an engineering discipline rather than a trend, we’ll likely work well together.
